About Agility PR
Thirty years in PR, and a low tolerance for theatre.
30 Years in PR, enabling a steely focus on securing the online visibility and audience engagement programmes which support high impact brand building and sales growth simultaneously.
The work is likely to be closer to strategic marketing than to traditional PR. Positioning, original market research, thought leadership writing, sector campaigning, award submission programmes, and much more, all aimed at making tech firms highly credible, authoritative and visible in your specialist trade media, target sector trades and nationals, and increasingly in the GenAI platforms as AI Visibility becomes the key marketing battleground.

Credentials
30 years
Working in public relations, the majority of it in B2B technology.
IPR, 1997
Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations since 1997.
MSc
Public Relations, University of Stirling, where I learnt the importance of planning PR campaigns based on what communication must happen to make a business more successful.
7 sectors
Fintech, paytech, pensions, physical security, automotive tech, bet tech and cybersecurity. Ambitious tech-led business looking to grow faster.
How I work
In the planning, not just the delivery
The engagements that work are the ones where I am involved from the start: in the commercial conversation, the product roadmap, the decision about which market to attack next. PR campaigns work at their best when they support your business goals as well as your positioning.
In practice that means fewer clients, longer relationships and a habit of disagreeing early rather than politely delivering something I think is wrong.
Thirty years has mostly taught me what not to spend a client’s budget on.

A good fit if
You are an ambitious B2B Tech-based firm
You have a clear focus on one or several vertical sectors or plan to roll out across new sectors
You need to differentiate yourself as your market is crowded and market dynamics are shifting rapidly
You are prepared to devote time at a senior level to articulate your views on the market(s) you are in/serve.
You believe your products, services, expertise will not sell itself. Positioning and consistently strong visibility is key to growth.
Probably not if
Your brief for us is to produce a specific number of press releases each month or quarter
You want to keep all ‘serious’ writing in-house
You’re a global business but don’t believe in localisation of the message. In other words you don’t want to address the pain points within the specific geographies or vertical sectors you are selling into
You don’t let your marketing function anywhere near the boardroom anymore
You see marketing as a cost, rather than a way to empower your sales team and shine a spotlight on successes which are happening everyday across the business.
